IDAS hosted a grand national event under the title "National Humanitarian Loyalty Day – The Guest and the Host",
attended by prominent political, religious, social, educational, and media figures.
Distinguished Attendees
The event was graced by Members of Parliament Ali Osseiran, Michel Moussa, and Ihab Hamadeh,
alongside representatives of other MPs and religious leaders.
Additionally, mayors, academic and educational figures from various Lebanese regions,
as well as a group of distinguished journalists, were present.
Inspirational Speeches and Recognition of Humanitarian and National Efforts
The ceremony commenced with the Lebanese national anthem, performed by the Qanaarit Public School Choir.
The opening speech was delivered by Mr. Maroun Hanna on behalf of the IDAS Center,
followed by an address from Dr. Samer Ghaddar, President of IDAS. He praised the national role played by social leaders and the public’s resilience in supporting communities during the displacement crisis.
Dr. Ghaddar emphasized the importance of national unity in building a country that serves all its citizens.
Several prominent religious leaders delivered speeches reinforcing Lebanese unity and the need for solidarity to maintain civil peace. These included:
- Sheikh Rabi' Qubaisi, representing the Mufti of Tyre and Jabal Amel, Judge Sheikh Hassan Abdullah
- Father Madlej Tamer, speaking on behalf of Bishop Maroun Ammar
- Sheikh Amer Zein El-Din, representing the Sheikh Aql of the Druze Community, Sheikh Sami Abou El-Mona
- Sheikh Mohammed Abu Zeid, President of the Sunni Sharia Court
- Bishop Elie Haddad, represented by Father Tawfiq Hourani
- Social activist Zahir Ridwan, who delivered a speech on behalf of the residents of Mount Lebanon
All speakers emphasized national unity, the importance of cohesion, and rejecting divisions to strengthen social harmony.
MP Dr. Ihab Hamadeh also presented a moving patriotic poem.
Artistic Performances and Honoring Distinguished Figures
The event featured artistic segments by the Qanaarit Public School Choir and honored many distinguished figures with certificates of appreciation and commemorative shields, handcrafted by the IDAS team.
The shields were beautifully designed handmade vessels containing soil from southern Lebanon and fragments of destroyed homes in Ghazieh and Qanaarit, symbolizing resilience and remembrance.
Additionally, a special honorary certificate and commemorative shield were presented by Captain Ali Hassoun, President of Al-Shabab Ghazieh Club, to Leader Walid Jumblatt, Sheikh Aql, and Minister Akram Shehayeb.
Several prominent journalists were also recognized for their integrity and contributions to media work.
A Nationally Unifying Gathering
The ceremony was preceded by a special honorary luncheon hosted by Mayor Zain Khalifeh of Qanaarit, bringing together attendees in a spirit of unity and solidarity, reflecting the deep national and humanitarian values embraced by the event.
